What the Verified badge means
Recruiters see a Verified badge on a job seeker who has an established, confirmed account and has shown real work in their portfolio. The badge is earned by what the profile shows, never bought.
A seeker is Verified when all of these hold
- Job-seeker accountA seeker profile in good standing, not an employer account
- Confirmed emailThe sign-in email address is confirmed
- Established accountThe account is at least 7 days old
- Showcase onThe portfolio is fully shared with recruiters
- The basicsFirst name, headline, location, at least one target role and a résumé
- Profile strength8 or more (below)
- Not revokedThe badge hasn’t been removed after a review
Profile strength
8 neededEach portfolio entry (work experience, education, projects shown to recruiters, and Beyond) adds up to 3:
- +1Filled in. Work: role and employer. Education: degree and school. Project: a name. Beyond: a label.
- +1Described. 80 or more characters of written description, including answered breakdown prompts. Images and links don’t count.
- +1Skilled. At least one skill attached to the entry.
Only the best 2 entries in each section count, so one section adds at most 6. Reaching 8 always takes two or more sections, or extras:
- Certification with an issuer+1 each, up to 2
- Recommendation with an author and text+1 each (+2 if verified), up to 2
- GitHub, LinkedIn or portfolio link+1
- Bio of 100 or more characters+1
- A language+1
For example, two described projects with skills (6), a GitHub link and a bio reach 8. Ten bare project titles don’t.
Live, and reviewed
- 1It follows the profile as it is now. Delete work, hide the portfolio or drop below 8 and the badge goes away until the profile meets the bar again.
- 2It can be revoked. The team reviews Verified profiles and removes the badge from accounts that misuse it.
- 3It counts for the community pool. Only Verified members share in the monthly pool. How the pool works
