Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Associate to represent the J&J MedTech Surgery Portfolio, with a focus on Wound Closure technologies across an assigned territory in Ireland.

This is a customer-facing commercial role with responsibility for driving access, adoption and preference for the J&J MedTech Surgery Portfolio across hospital accounts. The successful candidate will work closely with account managers, commercial colleagues, marketing, professional education and wider J&J MedTech teams to deliver a coordinated approach to account development and customer partnership.

The role requires a strong blend of commercial drive, clinical curiosity, customer focus and disciplined execution. You will build trusted relationships with key stakeholders, support education and training activity, develop existing and emerging KOL relationships, and use market intelligence to identify opportunities that grow the business and strengthen J&J Surgery’s position in the market.

Please note: This role requires a willingness to travel and be flexible regionally to support business needs, training, and project delivery across Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Support & Development

•Assist in achieving regional sales targets by supporting account activity & customer engagement.

•Develop product knowledge and clinical understanding to support in-theatre case coverage and customer queries.

•Collaborate with Sales Specialists to identify and pursue new business opportunities.

Customer Engagement

•Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in hospitals and surgical teams.

•Support the planning and execution of customer training events and educational sessions.

•Represent the company professionally at all times, upholding our values and commitment to healthcare excellence.

Team Collaboration

•Work closely with the wider sales and support teams to ensure alignment on goals and activities.

•Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and development workshops.

Qualifications & Experience

We’re looking for someone who is:

•Early in their sales career with a passion for sales, healthcare, or medical technology.

•A strong communicator with a proactive, can-do attitude.

•Organised, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

•Willing and able to travel across the relevant sales region as required.

•Ideally educated to degree level or with equivalent experience in a customer-facing role or healthcare setting.

A team player who thrives on collaboration and continuous improvement.

•A proven track record of high achievement in medical sales, healthcare, commercial roles or another demanding performance-led environment. Medical sales experience is advantageous but not essential.

•A high-impact individual with the interpersonal, communication and influencing skills to move the business forward in a competitive operating theatre environment.

•Strong customer focus, with the ability to build strategic partnerships with key stakeholders across hospital accounts.

•A solid understanding of the hospital environment, including NHS, HSE and private sector dynamics, or the ability to quickly develop this understanding.

•Commercial drive, sound judgement and the ability to identify opportunities, prioritise activity and execute with discipline.

•Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to confidently present complex information in a clear and compelling way.

•A collaborative mindset, with a strong affinity for working closely with others across sales, marketing, professional education and commercial teams.

•Entrepreneurial behaviour, resilience and the ability to adapt in a fast-moving, competitive healthcare environment.

•Degree-level education is desirable. A Business or Science degree would be advantageous but is not essential.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€43,100.00 - €69,000.00

In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
