Job description

Are you mechanically inclined, enjoy working with your hands, and like figuring out how things work? We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team!

This is an entry-level opportunity for someone interested in building their maintenance skills and growing within a hands-on maintenance team. You will assist with routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs throughout the facility, working alongside experienced team members who will provide training and guidance.

The ideal candidate has some mechanical aptitude, basic troubleshooting skills, and familiarity with hand and power tools. Experience with automotive repair, building maintenance, residential electrical work, or general mechanical repairs is helpful. Experience with dock doors, garage doors, loading ramps, or material handling equipment is a plus!

What You'll Do

•Assist with routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs on facility equipment, machinery, and building structures.
•Help troubleshoot basic mechanical issues and perform general repairs.
•Assist with basic electrical troubleshooting, including switches, sensors, and other components as training allows.
•Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on material handling equipment.
•Assist with basic refrigeration system inspections under the direction of experienced team members.
•Use hand tools and power tools to complete maintenance tasks safely and effectively.
•Help maintain the facility, equipment, and exterior grounds.
•Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines.
•Take on additional maintenance tasks as needed while continuing to develop your technical skills.

What We're Looking For

•Some mechanical aptitude or hands-on experience with repairs, maintenance, or troubleshooting.
•Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
•Basic electrical knowledge is helpful; residential electrical experience is welcome.
•Automotive, equipment repair, or general building maintenance experience is a plus.
•Ability to follow instructions, learn new skills, and work safely.
•Basic computer skills.
•Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
•Ability to work in a cold storage environment, including temperatures as low as -20°F, while wearing company-provided protective equipment.
•Ability to work independently when appropriate and as part of a team.

Don't have professional maintenance experience? That's okay! Trade school coursework or hands-on experience from previous jobs, automotive work, or personal projects can be a great foundation. We are willing to train someone with the right mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.

Schedule & Additional Information

•Shift: 1st shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.
•Weekends: Must be willing to work occasional weekends as needed.
•On-Call: Approximately once every two months.
•Overtime: Occasional overtime may be needed depending on maintenance projects and business needs. Overtime is generally limited and not a regular occurrence.

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following would be a plus:

•Garage door or dock door maintenance.
•Loading dock equipment and ramps.
•Automotive maintenance or repair.
•Basic electrical troubleshooting.
•Mechanical equipment and material handling equipment.

Join a team where you can learn, develop your skills, and build a career in maintenance and engineering!
