Digital Hands is seeking a Associate DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps team and help build, deploy, maintain, and improve the applications, cloud services, integrations, and automation that support our Security Operations Center (SOC).

This is a hands-on, early-career software and cloud engineering role with an emphasis on scripting, application development, debugging, cloud deployment, APIs, databases, automation, and infrastructure as code. You will work with DevOps engineers, ServiceNow administrators, SOC team members, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable technical solutions and streamline operational processes.

ServiceNow is a secondary but important part of the role. The successful candidate must be able to support and extend ServiceNow through administration, configuration, workflows, integrations, reporting, and automation while continuing to grow broader DevOps and development capabilities.

This is a full-time, onsite position located at Digital Hands Headquarters in Tampa, Florida.

About You

•You're a Developer and Automator: You enjoy writing code and scripts, integrating systems, eliminating repetitive work, and turning operational needs into reliable technical solutions.
•You're Cloud-Oriented: You understand modern cloud services and are comfortable learning how applications are deployed, operated, monitored, and improved in AWS, GCP, or similar environments.
•You're a Problem Solver: You can break down technical issues, investigate root causes, test solutions, and improve reliability through disciplined debugging and analysis.
•You're Collaborative: You work effectively with engineering and operational teams, communicate clearly, and translate requirements into practical implementations.
•You're Continuously Learning: You are motivated to expand your software engineering, DevOps, cloud, security, and ServiceNow skills in a fast-paced MSSP environment.

What You'll Do

•Develop and Automate: Write, test, debug, and maintain scripts, services, integrations, and automation using Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.
•Build and Support Cloud Solutions: Deploy and maintain applications in AWS, GCP, or similar cloud environments using cloud-native and serverless services where appropriate.
•Integrate Systems and Data: Work with REST APIs, event-driven services, queues, relational databases, and non-relational databases to connect platforms and support operational workflows.
•Improve Delivery Practices: Contribute to source control, code review, testing, release processes, monitoring, documentation, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
•Troubleshoot and Maintain: Investigate application, integration, platform, and cloud issues; identify root causes; and implement durable fixes that improve performance and reliability.
•Support ServiceNow: Administer and configure users, groups, roles, permissions, forms, notifications, reports, dashboards, and workflows. Support ServiceNow integrations and automation, including Flow Designer, as part of the broader DevOps environment.
•Partner with the SOC: Work with DevOps and SOC teams to improve the applications, integrations, and workflows used to deliver cybersecurity services.
•Document and Improve: Maintain technical documentation, procedures, configuration records, and knowledge articles while identifying opportunities to simplify processes and increase automation.

What You Bring

Required

•Experience with Python, JavaScript, or another scripting or programming language through professional work, internships, coursework, or personal projects.
•Experience deploying an application or service to AWS, GCP, or a similar cloud environment.
•Foundational understanding of software development practices, including source control, testing, debugging, documentation, and code review.
•Familiarity with APIs, application integrations, and common data formats such as JSON.
•Foundational ServiceNow experience, including platform administration or configuration, with the ability to support workflows, reports, dashboards, users, roles, permissions, and automation.
•Self-motivated and analytical, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a technical team.

Strongly Preferred

•Familiarity with cloud-native services such as API Gateway, S3, SQS, or Pub/Sub.
•Exposure to serverless services such as AWS Lambda or Google Cloud Functions.
•Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and non-relational databases such as DynamoDB or MongoDB.
•Experience using AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor to write, debug, and refactor code, combined with the judgment to review and validate generated output.
•Experience building or supporting ServiceNow workflows, Flow Designer automations, integrations, or platform configurations.
•Solid debugging skills and comfort giving and receiving code review feedback.

Preferred

•Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Serverless Framework.
•Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools used to build, test, and deploy applications.
•Basic understanding of system design concepts, including component boundaries, interfaces, data flows, reliability, and scalability.
•Experience with Security Operations Center environments and security tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, Google SecOps, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or SOAR platforms.
•Ability to get up to speed quickly in an unfamiliar codebase and technical environment.

The Team You'll Join

As part of the Digital Hands DevOps team, you will help develop and maintain the applications, automation, integrations, and cloud services that support our Security Operations Center. While this position does not perform security monitoring or incident analysis, your work will directly support the systems and workflows the SOC relies on to deliver cybersecurity services to Digital Hands customers.
