Job description
We offer you the chance to start your career and make a real difference.
Location: London
Programme Length: 10 weeks (Monday 14 June 2027 – Thursday 19 August 2027)
About Us
At the FCA, we protect consumers, regulate financial services, and ensure markets operate fairly. Our summer internship gives you the chance to experience that work directly.
You’ll join a busy division for a 10-week placement, working alongside teams addressing real challenges – from emerging technologies to consumer protection. It’s important, meaningful work, with plenty of opportunities to make a significant impact.
You’ll gain insight into how regulation works in practice, while building skills and connections across the organisation.
About the programme
Our 10-week Regulatory Summer Internship offers a unique opportunity to experience the world of financial regulation first-hand. You'll join a team within one of our regulatory divisions, working alongside experienced colleagues on meaningful projects that help protect consumers, support market integrity and support the regulation of financial services.
From day one, you'll contribute to real work and gain insight into how regulation operates in practice. Depending on your team, you could support policy development, analyse market trends, contribute to supervisory activities, help assess risks, or provide insights that inform important regulatory decisions. Along the way, you'll develop valuable skills in analysis, communication, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement.
You'll gain a deeper understanding of financial services, learn from experts across the organisation and see the impact that regulation has on consumers, firms and markets across the UK.
Note: Interns who complete the internship will be offered a place on our graduate scheme in the same location. Please apply for the internship in the location where you would also want to work as a graduate.

What We Offer
Application Process
Submit your online application by midnight, Sunday 31 January 2027. We encourage you to apply early, as vacancies may close before the advertised deadline if we receive a high volume of applications.
Only one application is accepted across our early careers programmes within any six-month period. Please consider your options carefully before applying.
You are on track to earn a minimum 2:1 degree from any university.
Applicants for the 2027 summer internship must be in their penultimate year of study at the time of application.
Your application and all assessment submissions must be your own work. We do not permit candidates to receive assistance from another person or to submit responses generated by artificial intelligence (AI) tools or similar software.
We are committed to creating an inclusive recruitment process. If you require a reasonable adjustment at any stage of the application process or during the programme, support is available through AmberJack FCAearlycareers ambertrack.co.uk
Right to Work
Candidates requiring visa sponsorship are welcome to apply. However, sponsorship for our Early Careers graduate, apprenticeship and summer internship programmes is available only in very limited circumstances and is unlikely to be possible.
Candidates must have, or expect to have, the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the programme. Where a candidate requires sponsorship to meet this requirement, eligibility will depend on Home Office requirements, the programme meeting relevant immigration requirements, the candidate’s individual circumstances, and the availability of Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS) allocated to the FCA. Sponsorship eligibility can only be assessed once a formal offer of employment has been made.
For the Graduate Programme, a Graduate visa will not cover the full programme duration and the FCA cannot guarantee subsequent sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route. Candidates relying on a Graduate visa may therefore apply but would need to have an alternative right to work in the UK for the remainder of the programme.
Where a CoS is issued, any visa application remains subject to Home Office approval, and candidates must have valid permission to work in the UK before the indicated programme start date. More information
Please note that graduate programme offers made following completion of the internship cannot be deferred.
